Cotillion Club for 8th Graders is a fun, engaging experience teaching good manners, social confidence and leadership skills.
All 8th graders are welcome!
Each class incorporates an ice breaker, manners learning with hands-on practice, and a little dancing.
We meet once a month from December through May. Our first four classes are on Sundays from 3:00-5:00 at The Church on Main in Southside. The Spring Social and Dinner Party is at the Chattanooga Golf & Country Club in April.
The optional Leaders Serve service project is offered on a Saturday in May.
Monthly schedule and class details:
December 4th: Holiday Hoedown- Wear your favorite flannel and jeans. We'll do some country western line dancing, brush up on the recipe for a great introduction and learn about online manners and netiquette.
January 8th: Winter Warm Up- We'll be mixing, mingling, dancing and working on the keys to making conversation and smartphone manners. Hot cocoa will be served along with a few other surprises!
February 5th: Sock Hop Social- Ponytails, rolled up jeans and bobby socks are welcome! We'll dance the twist, the basic shag and discuss traits of a lady and gentleman and showing respect for others.
March 5th: Desserts & Dancing- While enjoying sweet treats at our dessert buffet we will waltz, shag, twist and slide on the dance floor. Buffet manners and first dance essentials (corsages/boutonnieres, pictures, dance floor manners, making reservations) will be taught.
April 2nd: Spring Social and Dinner Party- Includes organized social time with dancing and party games plus an instructional dining etiquette lesson to polish up our table manners. A delicious four course Southern style dinner is served.
May 6th: Leaders Serve Project- Leaders know it's important to share their time and talents. We'll volunteer together at the Chattanooga Food Bank helping with a food box project while we learn about the importance of volunteering and teamwork. This is an optional event and will require your RSVP.
Cotillion Club members receive:

Tuition is $230
Due to the size of our venue and our desire to provide a hands-on experience, we will limit registrations. Our first get-together will be here quickly, so please reserve your child's spot soon.
